I went to Merritt Speedway on May 28th, this column is a few weeks late because I had softball and was concentrating on finishing 2nd grade….woot, woot I am officially a 3rd grader!
There were a lot of active military and veterans in the stands.
They started the night by honoring our country, they had racers and staff holding a HUGE American flag. They played God bless the USA. The color guard played taps. I am so proud to be an American!
It was so nice to see them bring most of the racecars out on the track.
Merritt’s staff has been busy bees, they did a bunch of purple painting (they went from red and white to purple and white), the place looks beautiful.
There is a lot of seating with plenty of good viewing angles.
Merritt had a large crowd of fans on the Memorial weekend, and the weather was nice.
We sat by super fan and nice guy, Scott Davenport.
The races were very good, I enjoyed watching pro stock #11 Danielle Robinson do an awesome slide job in turn four on the last lap to take the win.
I enjoyed myself completely and look forward to going back.
I will see you at the races
