Kids Korner – MARFC Fun At Crystal Motor Speedway

As a M.A.R.F.C. Ambassador, DeLayna stands her post under the M.A.R.F.C. tent at Crystal Motor Speedway

On Saturday, June 13th I went to Crystal Motor Speedway in beautiful Crystal, Michigan for their Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club (M.A.R.F.C.) night.

M.A.R.F.C. is a great organization that helps fans get to visit new tracks. A membership costs $20 per person or $25 for a family and gets you into the racetrack for free on specific M.A.R.F.C. nights.

It was awesome getting to be a part of M.A.R.F.C. as an ambassador this year. I got to tell people about M.A.R.F.C., but the best part was giving away hot wheels to other kids. There were so many polite little cuties there.

Crystal is a really family friendly track. The stands are roomy and have wide walkways. While they watered the track they had hoola-hoop contests and school bus rides through the pits and on the track. They also had a super cool T-Shirt cannon. I didn’t get to show off my softball outfield or my shotgun skills, but had fun watching the shirts fly.

Track announcer Leo Pego is always so clear and easy to understand that it makes it easy to know what is going on and who everyone is on the track.

The concession stand has lots of options, the elephant ears are a total kid favorite (trust me), M.A.R.F.C. president Gary Angle and I enjoyed the giant pickles, and the off the drill burgers are delicious and have lots of topping options. They are the bomb diggity.
The two ladies running the registers were so nice, which was also so appreciated.

Derrick Hilliker was the honored recipient of the M.A.R.F.C. Helmet Bag at Crystal Motor Speedway

The racing was also really good. Derrick Hilliker who races the #19 Late Model got the M.A.R.F.C. helmet bag and he was so excited and grateful. I was super excited that he won the feature.

The great Lakes Lightning Sprints were also there and put on a great show. I was cheering for the #40C driven by Chad Colley. Their whole family is so nice. His daughter, Suzie and I met at the M.A.R.F.C. Christmas party and became “lightning fast” friends. She is such a cool person, and I am so blessed to have her as a friend. I got to visit with them after the Lightning Sprint feature and Chad gave me a new hat. I love it so much and will be proudly wearing my #40C hat a lot.

It was an awesome night, and I am already excited for the next time I get to attend a M.A.R.F.C. event.

Thank you for reading and I will see you at the races!
