Sunshine, blue skies, and 80º is the epitome of a wonderful summer day, but when that day comes in April and you find yourself at one of Michigan’s premier race tracks…its pure perfection.
On April 15th Crystal Motor Speedway opened the doors on the 2017 racing season and not only was the weather incredible, the racing action was nothing short of impressive.
With temperatures ping-ponging all over the board, the Michigan tracks that have opened their doors for the 2016 have definitely had to deal with a multitude of struggles, but there is certainly no doubt that Crystal Motor Speedway had an absolutely beautiful weekend for their season opener back on April 16th. Tucked into the hills and narrow winding roads of northeast Kentucky sits one of the fastest and toughest dirt tracks in the nation; Florence Speedway. The Walton, Kentucky track has been considered one of the toughest to tame by many of dirt Late Model racings fiercest competitors. Because of its reputation, Florence is also the perfectly fitting home of the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame. Every June, a serene rural landscape in northern Ohio metamorphosis into a metropolis of sorts; almost overnight flat fields become campgrounds with thousands of American and racing flags flaying proudly, and all for one racing event.
