This past weekend I attended the 8th annual Michigan Short Track Racing Club Bowling Tournament; and although my bowling skills would have easily landed me in a B or C main I had a blast attempting to bowl and catching up with friends.
This annual event held at the Capitol Bowl in Owosso, MI is not only a great way to beat the mid-winter racing withdrawals, but it is all for a great cause. The $10 fee gets you 2 games of bowling and the profits as well as any money earned from 50/50 tickets and Raffles goes directly to someone in our racing family who is in need of assistance.

Over the past 8 years club founder Chuck Darling as well as “Big” Ed Inoles and Matt Pruier have grown this event from a small club gathering into a full-fledged fundraiser with over 100 bowlers and even more individuals attending just for the pure entertainment of it all. This year’s event was truly a success overall…even if there was some subpar bowling (that being me). The greatest part about this tournament though is that you don’t have to be good, not even okay….it’s all about having a great time and thanks to the Trinklein crew for making my time there so much fun!
