The most wonderful thing about family is that no matter how far you go or how long you are gone you can always count on the fact that you can come home to them. When it comes to racing, that is exactly what we all are; one giant family. A family that for me has fostered the best friendships and support.
My racing family has also been right here as life got crazy and just like a biological family would, has welcomed me back after being “out of the loop” since the birth of my daughter followed by a new job and all the things that just come with “adulting” and of course a pandemic that kept us 6 feet from everything and further from the track.
Now the pandemic has started to be controlled or at least understood and my sweet 6-year-old daughter DeLayna has shown an interest in not only racing, but writing as well, I have been finding myself back at the track and loving every minute of it.
Through it all I have learned how valuable this racing community is and how much I appreciate each of you reading this.
I am looking forward to brushing off my keyboard and resurrecting this website and I can’t thank each and every one of you for having interest in reading this and supporting me.
Not only will Pitside online be back, but I am so excited to announce that there will be a new addition as “Kids Korner with DeLayna” made its official debut in July of 2021. In this column DeLayna will be sharing her thoughts and opinions. The columns will be short, sweet, and 100% DeLayna, so for a perspective that only a 6-year-old can give, please check her columns out on the main page or from the “Kids Korner” page.
