2015 was a year filled with change and excitement for my family and me. On Easter Sunday (April 5th) my husband and I welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world. For sixty years the “Big E” has played host to the biggest names in auto racing. Tucked into the hills and narrow winding roads of northeast Kentucky sits one of the fastest and toughest dirt tracks in the nation; Florence Speedway. The Walton, Kentucky track has been considered one of the toughest to tame by many of dirt Late Model racings fiercest competitors. Because of its reputation, Florence is also the perfectly fitting home of the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame. The rumble of race engines, and the smell of race fuel burning; for me those are the true signs of spring and after a very long winter it was wonderful to fill my senses with spring this past weekend at Crystal Motor Speedway.
